The Calmride mouthpiece is designed to provide comfort and tongue relief for horses with sensitive tongues or other oral issues.

This stainless steel bit features a curved mouthpiece with a barrel in the center. This design allows extra space for the horse's tongue, facilitates better gliding over the tongue as reins are engaged and preventing it from being pinched or pressed against the roof of the mouth.

The bit has medium flexibility in the barrel joint

. The cannons of the bit move independently which allows for a clearer signal between the rider and the horse.

The copper rollers on the barrel encourage horse to chew, makes sliding the bit across the tongue more comfortable and promotes relaxation.

Eggbutt cheekpieces are often preferred by young horses or those who require more stability in mouth than the loose ring offers.

A simple bit, it often is a good starting piece for a young horse who is beginning their training.

Calmride Mouthpiece

The Calmride mouthpiece is designed to provide comfort and tongue relief for horses with sensitive tongues and small oral cavities. This bit features a curved mouthpiece with a medium flexibility barrel link in the center allowing for extra space for the horse's tongue and a lower palate while minimising any pinching classic double broken bits create. Two copper rollers facilitate better gliding over the tongue as reins are engaged and offer a more snap reaction, making it a great option for horses that can be at times sensitive, at times strong.

Eggbutt Cheekpiece

Eggbutt cheekpiece is a simple cheekpiece without leverage. It provides more stability than loose ring bits, which often makes it a great choice for young horses still learning, more sensitive and reactive horses and riders with less experienced hands.

Stainless Steel

Stainless steel is a highly durable, non-rusting metal that remains smooth and neutral in taste. It is one of the most common materials for bits due to its strength and longevity. Unlike sweet iron or German silver, it does not encourage salivation, but it provides a reliable and maintenance-free option. To care for stainless steel bits, rinse with water and dry after each use, polish occasionally to maintain shine, and disinfect with mild solutions when necessary.

Loved this!

My thoroughbred has poll issues from a track related accident. I’ve struggled to find a bit that helps his constant lateral twist, but this has been a game changer!

Thank you so much for your feedback! We're truly glad to hear this bit has made such a difference for your Thoroughbred, especially given his history and sensitivity at the poll. Finding the right fit in situations like his can be challenging, so it means a lot to know we could be of help. Wishing you both continued comfort and progress ahead!

Instant difference!

I poured over the reviews to decide which bit to get so Im writing this review in case it helps anyone else! I felt an instant difference with this bit on my pony! She was super wiggly (even a dressage coach had trouble keeping her in a straight line) and tossed her head around a lot with the old bit. With the new bit, she settled down and is super easy to steer. It did take us a ride or two to figure out our brakes again because she was in a French Link beforehand but now we have no issues

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, especially knowing how helpful reviews can be for others making the same decision! We’re thrilled to hear the bit made such an instant difference for your pony. It’s wonderful that she’s feeling more settled, straighter, and easier to guide. Totally understandable about needing a ride or two to adjust after switching from a French Link, so glad to hear everything is now feeling smooth and responsive. Wishing you both continued progress and happy rides ahead!

Nice bit!

Unsure if my horse likes it yet... I think he liked the calm blue better . however they were out if stock in the size I needed , so I tried this one. It's a lovely bit - quick shipping. Just not certain it's the right one for us yet. :)

Thank you for your honest feedback! We’re glad you’re happy with the quality and shipping, and totally understand that finding the perfect fit can take a little trial and error. Hopefully your horse settles into this one, but if not, we’ll be here when the Calmblue is back in stock in your size. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you need any guidance, we’re always happy to help!

I bought this for a very sensitive mare. Happy mouth didn’t work. She LOVES THIS BIT! Her mouth stays closed and she’s much quieter!
