This offers occasional but excellent brakes (should I need them) on my excitable young TB when I jump him. I love being able to ride with mostly just snaffle contact and a longer curb rein while knowing that the mouthpiece is gentle and the leverage is milder than most pelhams when I do need it. He was previously in a loose-ring, double-joined snaffle, and he seems to like the mouthpiece of this so much that I ordered a CalmBlue eggbutt snaffle for our flat rides.
Im a bit fitter and this is in my top 5 most selected bits across all brands. You need to size up due to the unique shape. Great for horses reluctant to settle into the contact and lift the base of the neck.
The only thing that I disliked about I got a 5.5 but I thought I ordered a five, maybe I’m confused
I liked everything, I think I might have got the wrong size for the egg butt, but that’s ok!

Purchased the 4.75” bit for our Shetland pony that was chomping on the bit and now rides in this happily without any fussing in his mouth!
Only used the bit once so far but it's gorgeous, the fit was right and my horse is already way quieter in the contact. We aren't competing so this bit is perfect. Highly recommend doing the quiz to see if the bit you're looking at is the right fit for your goals, I found it very helpful.
OMG its the first bit out of abput 10 that my horse actually liked , seriously happy right now , i had given up even trying .

Bought this for my new horse with an extremely small mouth and low palate. I immediately noticed a change in his acceptance of the bit. He no longer chomps and gapes and he happily accepts rein cues. Would recommend!
