Waterford

Waterford bits are typically used as corrective bits for horses that lean and are heavy on the hand. The chain like texture of the bit makes it conform to the mouth and creates instability in the mouth which leaves the horse with little to lean on. 

Our version of Waterford called SmoothShape is more horse friendly and resembles a leather bit more than other types of Waterford with often sharp elements placed on the links to discourage the horse from leaning.

Waterford mouthpieces are show jumping and cross country legal but are prohibited in dressage.
