The shape, the material and the features of the CalmBlue tongue relief mouthpiece are all centered around creating acceptance, calmness and enhanced communication while minimising any unnecessary pressure.

The Calmblue mouthpiece shape encourages free movement of the tongue and redistributes pressure away from the center of the tongue that many bits with classic link designs create.

The cannons of the bit move independently to create a precision in communication between the rider and the horse. The movement of the cannons in this bit approximately correspond to a level 1-2 mouthpiece of similar bits from other brands.

The CalmBlue mouthpiece is made of sweet iron which releases a sweet taste as it gets in contact with saliva that many horses prefer.

While the regular CalmBlue mouthpiece has a copper roller on the barrel to enhance acceptance and communication this bit is an adapted version where the copper is set and not rolling to make the bit explicitly dressage legal while the original mouthpiece undergoes review.

Eggbutt cheekpieces are often preferred by young horses or those who require more stability in mouth than the loose ring offers.

A simple bit, it often is a good starting piece for a young horse who is beginning their training.

Mouthpiece thickness: 10mm

Please note that sweet iron bits oxidise naturally and the blue parts will over time develop a thin layer of rust and turn brown/grey. This is by design as the "rust" is what creates the taste so many horses love.

after a long search

after a long search Agador's helped me find something that worked for my large chestnutTB mare, who is both over-reactive to metal bits, and likes to lean on my hand, race-horse style. She likes this one!

Great bit for my young gelding

My 4 year old seemed to dislike every bit I tried. I bought this and he seemed to like it right away. I’ve been riding him in it for a couple weeks. I like the steadiness of it and the lightest aid is all that is required. I love that it’s legal for dressage.
