The shape, the material and the features of the CalmBlue tongue relief mouthpiece are all centered around creating acceptance, calmness and enhanced communication while minimising any unnecessary pressure.

The Calmblue mouthpiece shape encourages free movement of the tongue and redistributes pressure away from the center of the tongue that many bits with classic link designs create.

The cannons of the bit move independently to create a precision in communication between the rider and the horse.

The CalmBlue mouthpiece is made of sweet iron which releases a sweet taste as it gets in contact with saliva that many horses prefer.

The copper roller on the barrel allows the bit to glide up and down the tongue as reins are engaged more freely without creating additional pressure points.

This bit features a full cheek that offers more lateral control, particularly through the turns and is well suited for young horses seeking stability and support.

Mouthpiece thickness: 10mm

Please note that sweet iron bits oxidise naturally and the blue parts will over time develop a thin layer of rust and turn brown/grey. This is by design as the "rust" is what creates the taste so many horses love.

Calmblue Mouthpiece

The shape, the material and the features of the CalmBlue tongue relief mouthpiece are all centered around creating acceptance, calmness and enhanced communication while minimising any unnecessary pressure. The Calmblue mouthpiece shape encourages free movement of the tongue, minimises any pinching and redistributes pressure away from the center of the tongue that many bits with classic link designs create.

Full Cheek Cheekpiece

The Full Cheek Bit is designed to provide lateral stability and precise steering, making it ideal for young or green horses, as well as those needing extra guidance. The extended cheeks prevent the bit from sliding through the mouth, enhancing rein aids for better directional control. It can be used with or without keepers—when used with keepers, it maintains a more fixed position, while without keepers, it allows more movement in the mouth. As a direct-action bit, it does not apply poll pressure, making it a suitable choice for horses that respond best to clear and consistent rein aids.

Sweet Iron

Sweet iron is a blue iron alloy designed to oxidize over time, creating a sweet taste that encourages salivation. As it rusts, it develops a patina that enhances flavor, which many horses find appealing. While sweet iron promotes a moist mouth, it does wear over time and requires maintenance. To care for it, wipe the bit after use to prevent excessive rust buildup, store it in a dry place when not in use, and scrub gently with a cloth or mild abrasive if excessive rust forms.

Colt starting

I’ve found the calm blue side pull snaffle works great starting colts with neck reining. They don’t throw their heads and there’s a lot of salivation. I highly recommend this bit.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! We’re thrilled to hear the Calm Blue Side Pull Snaffle is working so well for you, especially with encouraging early neck reining and promoting relaxation. The salivation and lack of head tossing are great signs of acceptance! We really appreciate the recommendation and wish you continued success bringing your young ones along.

happy horse

So far my horse seems happy with the bit. His mouth is quiet with this one. I would recommend for those who have horses with a fat tongue.

Thank you for the kind words and recommendation! We’re so glad to hear your horse is feeling happy and settled, a quiet mouth is always a great sign. This bit can definitely be a great option for horses with a fuller tongue, and we appreciate you sharing that insight with others. Wishing you both many more smooth, happy rides ahead!

Great bit for the money

I bought this bit because I thought my standard French Link might be putting too much pressure on my young TB's tongue, and it's been a huge help! He's much more consistent in the contact and also much straighter through his shoulders/body despite my other bit also being a full cheek. Would 10/10 recommend.

Thank you so much for sharing this! We're thrilled to hear the bit has made such a positive difference for your young TB, especially with consistency in contact and straightness. It’s amazing how a small change can unlock better communication and comfort. We truly appreciate the 10/10 recommendation and wish you both many more great rides ahead!

A "Just Right" bit!

This is the exact bit I was looking for to jump my developing 6 yo. Stability for turning without taking away from pace, while encouraging softness. And, bonus, it's affordable! Thanks, Agadors!

Thank you so much, this is exactly what we love to hear! We’re thrilled the bit is hitting that right balance for your 6-year-old, giving you the stability and softness you need without sacrificing pace. And we're so glad the price point made it even better! Wishing you both many confident, smooth jumps ahead. Thanks for choosing Agadors!
