CalmBlue Hunter D-Ring Snaffle
The shape, the material and the features of the CalmBlue tongue relief mouthpiece are all centered around creating acceptance, calmness and enhanced communication while minimising any unnecessary pressure.
The Calmblue mouthpiece shape encourages free movement of the tongue and redistributes pressure away from the center of the tongue that many bits with classic link designs create.
The cannons of the bit move independently to create a precision in communication between the rider and the horse. The movement of the cannons in this bit approximately correspond to a level 1-2 mouthpiece of similar bits from other brands.
The CalmBlue mouthpiece is made of sweet iron which releases a sweet taste as it gets in contact with saliva that many horses prefer.
The copper roller on the barrel allows the bit to glide up and down the tongue as reins are engaged more freely without creating additional pressure points.
This bit features a Hunter Style D ring cheekpiece which is a fixed cheekpiece that offers more stability. The extended bar on the cheekpiece adds support which makes it a good choice for horses that might struggle through turns.
A simple bit, it often is a good starting piece for a young horse who is beginning their training.

Please note that sweet iron bits oxidise naturally and the blue parts will over time develop a thin layer of rust and turn brown/grey. This is by design as the "rust" is what creates the taste so many horses love.

the perfect bit

I recently bought a 10 year old Canadian mare who had never been bitted, always riden in bosal, she was green and stubborn with no moving forward. She showed signs of some sort abuse and distrusted immensely. When I got her she had indent on her nose and white hairs from where the bosal had sat.
I tried a loose ring with bean and a couple other different types snaffles but she was quite fussy and leaning on the bit.
My trainer and I discussed what bit would be best to help her. We decided on a myler type with a small roller and sweet iron. I seached the internet, and local tack stores. I wanted quality but I had a small budget, this was because I had spent a lot of money bringing this mare back to health. Then I found Agador's web site. They had what I was looking for and at a price I could afford. The bit is beautiful and balanced. It was easy to order and was here sooner than expected.
What a difference this bit has made for my horse. We now have an outside reign! She is still figuring out her balance, her training is a slow progress but she is lighter, more responsive and moving forward nicely, this tells me she's happy in this bit.

I ordered this bit for both of my horses. One horse never seems comfortable in any bit I’ve put him in and so far he really seems to enjoy this one. The other horse I’ve just started up and has a parrot mouth so I thought I’d try this. He’s very comfortable in it. I’m very happy with my purchases.
