ComfortArch Hunter D-Ring Snaffle
Our ComfortArch Hunter D-Ring features a mullen mouth design with an anatomically positioned port crafted from high-quality German silver. This gentle copper alloy develops a warm, sweet taste when in contact with saliva, encouraging acceptance and relaxation.
The curved mullen design with integrated port provides essential tongue relief while maintaining stability - perfect for horses that tend to play with or resist more mobile mouthpiece designs. The mid-part of the mouthpiece is engineered at a slight angle that rotates to lay flat against the tongue when reins are engaged. This feature encourages the horse to seek contact further encouraging stability.
The fixed D-ring cheeks offer clear directional guidance through subtle contact with the sides of the face, making this an excellent choice for jumping and flatwork.
German silver's natural warming properties make it particularly appealing for sensitive horses, while the solid, port-enhanced mouthpiece helps prevent tongue evasions and promotes steadier connection. The D-ring cheeks provide the security of a fixed ring with enhanced lateral control compared to regular eggbutt designs.
We recommend this bit for:
- Horses that need tongue relief but find jointed bits too mobile
- Sensitive mouths that respond well to warmer metal alloys
- Riders seeking clear communication through a stable contact
- Show ring presentation where classic styling is valued
The ComfortArch's thoughtful design ensures optimal comfort and clear communication between horse and rider. Fully dressage legal.

Is this bit right for my horse?
Riders often choose this bit for:
- Horses that play with the bit with tongue and lips: a stable mullen with no moving parts
- Head tossing in very sensitive horses: no moving parts means no unexpected palate contact
- Horses that put their tongue over the bit: plenty of tongue relief
Worth knowing:
- The port is more defined than it looks, so expect a stronger, more direct feel than our softer mullens
- Not for horses that chew the bit with their teeth: the port gives molars something to grab
The D-ring gives the stability of a fixed ring with a wide, steady contact area.
Every horse is an individual. If you are not sure, take our two minute quiz or write to hello@agadors.com and we will help you decide.
