ComfortLink Baucher Snaffle

The ComfortLink mouthpiece is crafted from German silver, known for its warmer feel and slight sweetness when in contact with saliva. The anatomically curved cannons are designed to conform to the horse's oral cavity, while the carefully engineered joint angle prevents any possible digging into the palate.

The unique curvature provides optimal weight distribution across the tongue and bars, making this an excellent choice for horses that may be sensitive to sharper pressure from traditional single-jointed snaffles. When paired with the poll-relief action of the baucher cheeks, this creates a clear but gentle form of communication between horse and rider.

German silver develops a warming effect in the mouth and may encourage salivation and acceptance. This mouthpiece bridges the gap between the responsiveness of a single joint and the comfort of more complex mouthpiece designs.

We recommend this bit for:

  • Horses that need a medium stability mouthpiece
  • Sensitive mouths that respond well to warmer metal alloys
  • Riders seeking clear communication through a stable contact
  • Horses transitioning from unjointed to jointed bits

Comfortlink Mouthpiece

This mouthpiece was created to address typical concerns of single jointed bits. The anatomically curved cannons are designed to conform to the horse's oral cavity, while the carefully engineered joint angle prevents any potential digging into the palate. Great option for horses that need the medium stability that single joint bits offer in a more anatomically optimised design.

Baucher Cheekpiece

Bauchers or often called hanging cheek snaffles are bits with the most fixed position in the mouth. Contrary to popular belief baucher bits exert no leverage or pressure on the poll. In fact, pressure studies have shown baucher cheekpiece to relieve poll pressure by floating the bridle leathers that attach to the top ring upwards as reins are engaged. The stability of the bit helps with minimising unintended movement and therefore makes riders aids clearer for the horse to understand. Baucher bits are a great choice for less experienced riders and horses or those who prefer maximum stability in the cheekpiece. They often are preferred by nervous horses, horses with sensitive bars and horses that don't like the weight of the bit resting on their tongue.

German Silver

German silver is a copper-rich alloy made of nickel, copper, and zinc that promotes salivation and offers a warm feel in the mouth. It is more resistant to oxidation than sweet iron but still encourages bit acceptance due to its composition. While it does not rust, it may tarnish over time. To maintain it, clean with warm water and mild soap after each use, avoid harsh abrasives to preserve the finish, and polish occasionally to prevent discoloration.
