The ComfortShape reimagines both the Waterford concept and Wilson cheek mechanics through a comfort-focused lens. This innovative 12mm design combines a smoothed multi-link mouthpiece with our unique Swales-inspired Wilson cheek system, ideal for horses needing a sophisticated anti-leaning solution in a slimmer profile.

Our refined German silver multi-link system features carefully contoured, rounded segments that discourage leaning while distributing pressure more evenly than traditional Waterford designs. The 12mm diameter makes this bit especially suitable for horses with limited space between tongue and palate who still need help staying light in the contact.

The Swales inspired Wilson cheek configuration features independent inner rings, which allow the mouthpiece to self-adjust without creating the side pressure often associated with standard Wilson bits. This mechanical refinement is particularly beneficial when combined with a less stable mouthpiece design.

Crafted from German silver (a copper-nickel-zinc alloy), the bit develops a mild taste that some horses enjoy. The material's properties help it warm quickly to mouth temperature, enhancing acceptance.

Wilson Cheekpiece

The Wilson cheekpiece is a unique snaffle bit design used to provide lateral control and increase precision in steering by applying pressure on the side of the face. While it has no leverage, it is most commonly seen in disciplines where turning and directional control are critical, such as driving or show jumping.

German Silver

German silver is a copper-rich alloy made of nickel, copper, and zinc that promotes salivation and offers a warm feel in the mouth. It is more resistant to oxidation than sweet iron but still encourages bit acceptance due to its composition. While it does not rust, it may tarnish over time. To maintain it, clean with warm water and mild soap after each use, avoid harsh abrasives to preserve the finish, and polish occasionally to prevent discoloration.
