Our ComfortWave mouthpiece features a curve to conform to the shape of the horse's mouth and encourage acceptance of contact. The lozenge features a larger than usual surface area with no sharp edges to distribute pressure evenly on the tongue.

German silver develops a sweet taste when in contact with the horse's saliva and has a slightly softer and warmer feel compared to stainless steel or other metals commonly used for bits. This characteristic can make the bit more comfortable for some horses, as it may feel gentler against their sensitive mouth tissues and improve relaxation.

The gag cheekpiece delivers pressure on the poll and corners of the mouth by pulling through the gag rings on the bit which creates a leverage effect.

This cheekpiece is ideal for the rider that wants to control the amount of leverage and poll pressure applied throughout the ride and only apply it selectively.

Must be used with gag cheek ropes and a second rein.

Comfortwave Mouthpiece

The ComfortWave mouthpiece features a curve to conform to the shape of the horse's mouth and encourage acceptance of contact. The lozenge features a larger than usual surface area with no sharp edges to distribute pressure evenly on the tongue. A gentle bit it balances the pressure over the tongue and bars.

Polo Gag Cheekpiece

Gag bits accentuate the upward, lifting action of the snaffle against the corners of the mouth and also transferring part of the pressure on the poll. Typically used in show jumping and eventing cross-country phase these bits give rider more control in higher speed and adrenaline settings. We recommend using any gag bit in a double rein set up to maximise comfort and it's corrective potential.

German Silver

German silver is a copper-rich alloy made of nickel, copper, and zinc that promotes salivation and offers a warm feel in the mouth. It is more resistant to oxidation than sweet iron but still encourages bit acceptance due to its composition. While it does not rust, it may tarnish over time. To maintain it, clean with warm water and mild soap after each use, avoid harsh abrasives to preserve the finish, and polish occasionally to prevent discoloration.

My horse loved this and I was able to have such a smooth connection with her. She’s very sensitive to bits and can toss her head lots and she loved the feel of the comfort wave bit! I have now ordered this in 3 other cheek pieces to have a variety!
