SmoothLink single jointed bits are made of stainless steel that has been sanded down and polished for horses’ comfort.

This bit features a smooth single jointed link mouthpiece to avoid any unnecessary pinching.

The loose ring, eggbutt, elevator and gag bits of this line can be used “upside down” to provide mild bar relief and give you a hint whether your horse prefers more pressure to be directed towards the center or the side of the tongue above bars.

We find this to be a great starter bit and a less expensive alternative to other premium bits as it is versatile, generally well accepted and tends to take up less space in the horse’s mouth without being unnecessarily harsh.

Western D-Ring cheekpieces are often preferred by young horses or those who require more stability in mouth than the loose ring offers while adding extra support on the cheeks when learning to steer compared to eggbutt snaffles.

A simple bit, it often is a good starting piece for a young horse who is beginning their training.
