BlueWave Weymouth features an anatomically curved extra wide port and meticulously rounded edges to provide exceptional comfort while maintaining clear communication - making it equally effective for sensitive horses and those who take a stronger contact.
The 13mm mouthpiece creates optimal balance between surface area and space taken up in the mouth, while the wider port width prevents jaw locking and tongue compression - common issues with narrower port designs.
The forward-curved port design works in harmony with the natural shape of the tongue, providing ample space for movement and swallowing. The 70mm shanks deliver balanced leverage for refined curb aids, making this bit particularly valuable for horses that have shown resistance to conventional ported designs or tend to bear down against narrower ports.
This Weymouth excels at promoting proper acceptance of contact while maintaining comfort - especially beneficial for horses that have struggled with flat mouthpiece or narrower port designs, whether they're highly sensitive or prefer taking a solid feel of the bit.
Best For:
- Horses needing maximum tongue relief
- Both sensitive mouths and stronger horses taking contact
- Situations requiring clear communication without pressure points
- Advanced work where proper tongue space promotes relaxation
Mouthpiece thickness: 13mm
Shank length: 70mm
Is this bit right for my horse?
Riders often choose this bit for:
- The Weymouth with the most tongue space in our double bridle lineup: a wide, pronounced port
Worth knowing:
- The port sits high, so it is more likely to interfere with the bradoon. The horse needs enough vertical room to carry both bits
- Not for horses that chew the bit with their teeth: the port gives molars something to grab
- This bit will rust, and it needs to: the surface patina is what creates the warm, sweet taste. Do not submerge it in water or expose it to excessively humid or moist environments, and always wipe it dry after use to ensure longevity and function
Every horse is an individual. If you are not sure, take our two minute quiz or write to hello@agadors.com and we will help you decide.
