The shape, the material and the features of the CalmBlue tongue relief mouthpiece are all centered around creating acceptance, calmness and enhanced communication while minimising any unnecessary pressure.

The Calmblue mouthpiece shape encourages free movement of the tongue and redistributes pressure away from the center of the tongue that many bits with classic link designs create.

The cannons of the bit move independently to create a precision in communication between the rider and the horse.

The CalmBlue mouthpiece is made of sweet iron which releases a sweet taste as it gets in contact with saliva that many horses prefer.

The copper roller on the barrel allows the bit to glide up and down the tongue as reins are engaged more freely without creating additional pressure points.

Argentine is a versatile, hybrid bit often used in Western disciplines. Depending on rein placement it has an effect similar to a baucher bit (on snaffle ring) or that of a curb (on lower ring).

It is ideal for moving horses from a direct-reined snaffle to a one-handed, neck-reining curb bit or those who need it for more excitable settings such as trails. Must be used with a curb chain or strap.

Mouthpiece thickness: 10mm

Please note that sweet iron bits oxidise naturally and the blue parts will over time develop a thin layer of rust and turn brown/grey. This is by design as the "rust" is what creates the taste so many horses love.

Sweet Iron

Sweet iron is a blue iron alloy designed to oxidize over time, creating a sweet taste that encourages salivation. As it rusts, it develops a patina that enhances flavor, which many horses find appealing. While sweet iron promotes a moist mouth, it does wear over time and requires maintenance. To care for it, wipe the bit after use to prevent excessive rust buildup, store it in a dry place when not in use, and scrub gently with a cloth or mild abrasive if excessive rust forms.
