Our ComfortWave mouthpiece features a curve to conform to the shape of the horse's mouth and encourage acceptance of contact. The lozenge features a larger than usual surface area with no sharp edges to distribute pressure evenly on the tongue.

German silver develops a sweet taste when in contact with the horse's saliva and has a slightly softer and warmer feel compared to stainless steel or other metals commonly used for bits. This characteristic can make the bit more comfortable for some horses, as it may feel gentler against their sensitive mouth tissues and improve relaxation.

The Liverpool cheekpiece offers a versatile range of rein positions, allowing riders and drivers to fine-tune the level of curb action and leverage to suit their horse’s needs.

Designed for driving and strong horses, this bit provides a stable yet adjustable feel, with options for direct snaffle-like action or increased leverage depending on rein placement. The fixed cheek design ensures a steady connection, preventing excessive movement in the mouth, while the multiple rein slots allow for customized rein pressure distribution.

This bit is typically used for horses advanced in their training who require the precision the curb bits offer.

Liverpool Cheekpiece

The Liverpool Bit is a staple in driving, offering versatility and control with its multiple rein slots. This allows drivers to adjust the level of leverage depending on the horse’s needs and level of training. The bit works with a curb chain to distribute pressure across the jaw, the chin, the lips and the poll dependingo n placement of the rein. Whether used for light harness work or heavy draft horses, the Liverpool bit gives drivers the ability to fine-tune their rein aids for precision and responsiveness.

German Silver

German silver is a copper-rich alloy made of nickel, copper, and zinc that promotes salivation and offers a warm feel in the mouth. It is more resistant to oxidation than sweet iron but still encourages bit acceptance due to its composition. While it does not rust, it may tarnish over time. To maintain it, clean with warm water and mild soap after each use, avoid harsh abrasives to preserve the finish, and polish occasionally to prevent discoloration.
