FlexArch Baucher Snaffle
The FlexArch Baucher Snaffle combines the gentle, cushioned feel of a flexible rubber mouthpiece with the stability and stillness of the Baucher cheekpiece. The pre-shaped arch comfortably accommodates the tongue without applying direct pressure to its center, while the semi-flexible rubber construction encourages acceptance in horses that are sensitive to rigid metal mouthpieces.
Paired with the Baucher (hanging cheek) design, this bit offers one of the most fixed positions in the mouth, minimizing unintended movement and making rein aids clearer for the horse to understand. Contrary to popular belief, the Baucher exerts no leverage or poll pressure. Instead, pressure studies have shown that the floating bridle leathers actually relieve poll pressure when the reins are engaged.
The FlexArch Baucher is a versatile, comfort-focused option well suited to nervous horses, those with sensitive bars, or horses that dislike the weight of a traditional bit resting on their tongue. Its mullen (unjointed) profile distributes pressure evenly across the bars and tongue, promoting a steady, elastic contact across disciplines.
Due to the shape of the mouthpiece we recommend sizing up 1/4" to accommodate the attachment of the cheekpiece.
Thickness: 14mm (Medium)
Please note that all rubber bits are non-returnable and non-exchangeable due to the porous nature of the material.

⚠ Not for chewers. Rubber is soft, which is what makes it gentle in the mouth. But a horse that chews will destroy it fast, in some cases within five minutes. Simple test: if your horse leaves teeth marks on the bit, rubber is a no go, choose metal instead. Rubber bits are also final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged for hygiene reasons.

Is this bit right for my horse?
Riders often choose this bit for:
- Horses that put their tongue over the bit: our most tongue relief, with a forward tilt
- The tricky combination of a small mouth with a fat tongue
Worth knowing:
- Semi-flexible rubber: this bit is not chew proof, not even a little. If your horse chews or grabs the bit with its teeth, choose a metal mouthpiece instead
- Like all rubber bits, it is not returnable once used. If you are unsure, we usually suggest trying the CalmBlue first
The Baucher holds the bit steady, lifts it off the bars and puts no pressure on the poll under contact. Often the pick for rooters and bar-sensitive horses.
Every horse is an individual. If you are not sure, take our two minute quiz or write to hello@agadors.com and we will help you decide.
