SteadyFlex Eggbutt Snaffle
The SteadyFlex mouthpiece features a gently curved mullen design created to offer a stable, comfortable feel in the horse’s mouth.
The smooth shape follows the natural line of the tongue and spreads pressure evenly, rather than focusing it on one small area. When the rider takes contact, the mouthpiece settles quietly against the tongue, helping the horse understand the rein aid without sudden or sharp pressure.
Made from semi-flexible rubber, the SteadyFlex mouthpiece is designed to feel forgiving while still allowing clear communication.
The slight flexibility helps absorb small movements from the rider’s hand, which can be reassuring for sensitive horses. At 14 mm thick, the mouthpiece offers a good balance between comfort and stability, making it well suited for horses that prefer a calm, consistent contact and a quieter feel in the mouth.
Eggbutt cheekpiece is a simple cheekpiece without leverage. It provides more stability than loose ring bits, which often makes it a great choice for young horses still learning, more sensitive and reactive horses and riders with less experienced hands.
This bit is not suitable for horses with very sensitive bars.
Mouthpiece thickness: 14mm
Please note that all rubber bits are non-returnable and non-exchangeable due to the porous nature of the material.

⚠ Not for chewers. Rubber is soft, which is what makes it gentle in the mouth. But a horse that chews will destroy it fast, in some cases within five minutes. Simple test: if your horse leaves teeth marks on the bit, rubber is a no go, choose metal instead. Rubber bits are also final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged for hygiene reasons.

Is this bit right for my horse?
Riders often choose this bit for:
- Sensitive or nervous horses: semi-flexible rubber with a soft, quiet feel
- Horses that play with the bit with tongue and lips
- Horses that stay behind the bit: one of the gentlest options we make
Worth knowing:
- Rubber: not chew proof, not even a little. Not returnable once used. If you are unsure, we usually suggest trying the CalmBlue first
The eggbutt keeps the bit still. A good match for busy-mouthed horses and those that prefer stability.
Every horse is an individual. If you are not sure, take our two minute quiz or write to hello@agadors.com and we will help you decide.
