USEF Dressage Legal Bits

Explore our selection of USEF Dressage compliant bits, designed to meet the guidelines set out by the Dressage Division. Each bit in this collection adheres to the requirements set by USEF to ensure both comfort and performance for your horse. Please note that not all bits legal within USEF are also legal within EC and FEI.

Snaffle Bits & Bradoons

• Material: Available in smooth metal, flexible rubber, or synthetic materials.
• Design: Choose from unjointed, single-jointed, or double-jointed snaffles, all with smooth surfaces and no rough edges.
• Diameter: A minimum diameter of 10 mm for adults, and 12 mm for young horses and children. 10mm for bradoons.
• Style: Loose ring, eggbutt, D-ring, baucher, fulmer and full cheek snaffles are all approved for use. Only eggbutt and loose ring bradoons are permitted in a double bridle.

Weymouth (Double Bridle)

• Port Height: The ported design is allowed as long as the port height doesn’t exceed 30 mm, ensuring it fits within USEF guidelines.
• Cheek Length: The lever arm must be no longer than 10 cm to maintain legal status.
• Material: Made from smooth metal or covered in flexible materials for enhanced comfort.
