Kimblehook Bits
The Kimblehook is a variation of the Kimberwick bit, designed to provide slightly more leverage and control. Instead of slotted rein attachments like the traditional Kimberwick, the Kimblehook features fixed hooks for the reins and a larger cheekpiece. This design increases the leverage effect, enhancing poll pressure and curb action compared to the standard Kimberwick.
When reins are engaged, pressure is distributed across the tongue, bars of the mouth, poll, and chin groove via the curb chain or strap. The fixed rein hooks give the rider variability in rein placement and options in terms of degrees of leverage. As a result, the Kimblehook offers more options than other curbs like a Pelham or double bridle.
