Our ComfortArch Kimblehook features a mullen mouth design with an anatomically positioned port crafted from high-quality German silver. This gentle copper alloy develops a warm, sweet taste when in contact with saliva, encouraging acceptance and relaxation.

The curved mullen design with integrated port provides essential tongue relief while maintaining stability - perfect for horses that tend to play with or resist more mobile mouthpiece designs. The mid-part of the mouthpiece is engineered at a slight angle that rotates to lay flat against the tongue when reins are engaged. This feature encourages the horse to seek contact further encouraging stability.

The Kimblehook cheek design provides mild leverage, making it an excellent choice for horses who need a quieter feel but benefit from a bit more adjustability in contact. With its single rein attachment options, the Kimblehook offers versatile rein pressure distribution, allowing for a range of responsiveness depending on placement. This makes it an excellent option for show jumping and eventing, and riders looking for enhanced communication without excessive leverage.

German silver's natural warming properties make it particularly appealing for sensitive horses, while the solid, port-enhanced mouthpiece helps prevent tongue evasions and promotes steadier connection.

We recommend this bit for:

  • Horses that need tongue relief but find jointed bits too mobile
  • Sensitive mouths that respond well to warmer metal alloys
  • Riders seeking clear communication through a stable contact
  • Horses needing maximum amount of stability to achieve steadiness

The ComfortArch's thoughtful design ensures optimal comfort and clear communication between horse and rider.

ComfortArch Mouthpiece

The curved mullen design of the ComfortArch with integrated port provides essential tongue relief while maintaining stability - perfect for horses that tend to play with or resist more mobile mouthpiece designs. The mid-part of the mouthpiece is engineered at a slight angle that rotates to lay flat against the tongue when reins are engaged maximising surface area with bars and tongue.

Kimberwick Cheekpiece

The Kimblehook Bit is a modern variation of the Kimberwick, designed for adjustable leverage and consistent contact. Featuring a fixed cheek with rein slots in the form of hooks, it allows riders to modify the amount of pressure applied to the poll and jaw. The rein placement determines whether it acts more like a snaffle or a mild curb, making it a versatile choice for horses that need frequent adjustments in level of control required by situation.

German Silver

German silver is a copper-rich alloy made of nickel, copper, and zinc that promotes salivation and offers a warm feel in the mouth. It is more resistant to oxidation than sweet iron but still encourages bit acceptance due to its composition. While it does not rust, it may tarnish over time. To maintain it, clean with warm water and mild soap after each use, avoid harsh abrasives to preserve the finish, and polish occasionally to prevent discoloration.

Great bit and value for a tricky mare!

I’ve been loving this bit for a young jumper mare who is historically very tricky and tough in the mouth. This has offered some stability while also giving me more straightness and some brakes. I’m excited to add the kimblehook with the calm blue mouthpiece as well to our collection. Really enjoying the action of the Kimblehook!

Thank you for sharing this, we love hearing how well the bit is working for your young jumper! It's fantastic that you're finding the right balance of stability, straightness, and control. The Calmblue Kimblehook sounds like a great next step, we’re excited for you to try it out and see the results! Wishing you continued success and harmony in the saddle.

So far so good.

It seems to be working although I feel the port is a little bit wide for her mouth. As well, the top part of the bit needs to be arched out so it doesn’t rub the cheeks,

Thank you for your honest feedback, we're glad to hear it's working so far, and we really appreciate you highlighting the fit details. Every horse’s mouth is unique, and insights like yours help us continue improving. If you’d ever like help finding a slightly different shape or size that might work better, we’d be happy to assist. Wishing you and your horse continued progress and comfort!
